As I mentioned at the end of last month, I wasn’t able to do the exercise I’d wanted to do in the mornings, because I don’t have an available wall to use in my guest bedroom. So I wanted to find another one I could do, and found this at-home six-pack abs workout from Fit Mommy Diaries. Clearly I’m not a mom, but it’s a nice abs circuit I can do in the morning.

Something that’s really important to me is TIME. I have about 40 minutes in the morning to do a workout before I have to wake Mark up (yes, I’m a human alarm clock! But I enjoy it), and I want to use it well. If I’m doing yoga, I can do a 30-minute routine. But if I want to do both yoga AND a workout, it means a shorter yoga video.

So this routine should actually take longer, but I’m not that strong yet. At the moment, I’m only doing each item on the list once through, rather than the recommended 3 times. This is for time and also how I feel. I’m definitely getting better at balance, but my strength is going to take some time.

ForSia-40-13I can’t even DO this move (left). I don’t know why, but it’s really hard for me at the moment. I’m hoping that if I do these exercises twice or three times each week, I can eventually build up to it. I could barely even do the normal V-ups that are also included in this routine. But I made it through.

I don’t care that I can’t do as much as is requested of me. I’m doing as much as I can, and I think that’s more than enough. I know I’ll be able to build up to doing 3 sets of each item in the given time after a while. But we have to start small.

Baby steps.

Wish me luck!
